Training and preparation are provided for those who feel called to these roles in parish life:

Ushers / Greeters responsibilities include extending hospitality by holding doors and greeting people as they arrive for Mass, collecting the offering, and distributing weekly bulletins at end of Sunday Mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion assist with distribution of Holy Communion during Mass as well as providing Holy Communion to parishioners who are sick, homebound or in nursing homes, witnessing to the presence of Christ in our midst.

Lectors assume the responsibility of clearly proclaiming the Word of God in the scripture readings at Mass.

Servers assist the priest before, during and after the Mass and at other religious ceremonies. Servers may be adult or youth (5th grade or older), male or female.

Cross Bearers carry the cross and lead the aisle procession of the priest, servers, and lectors at the start and conclusion of Mass.

Worship Music
The author of the 49th Psalm developed a wise practice as he contemplated the problems he faced. He wrote, "I will solve my riddle to the music of the harp" (Psalm 49:4). He found encouragement to meet life's difficulties by getting involved with music. Good Liturgical Music recalls scripture and helps guide us on our journey with the Lord. All who have been given the gift of music are encouraged to become involved in the Liturgical Music Program at St. Margaret Mary. The ability to read music or previous choral experience is not necessary for choir participation.

Funeral Choir: Rehearses 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 9:30 - 10:30 am and leads the congregation in sung prayer at parish funerals. This is an excellent opportunity for all who are available during the day to become involved in a most important ministry on an as-needed basis.

Parish Choir: Rehearses every Wednesday evening at
7:00 pm and ministers to the congregation at the 10:30 am Sunday Mass. This choir welcomes anyone high school age and older.

Contemporary Ensemble: Rehearses Monday evenings at 7:30 pm and ministers to the congregation at the 8:30 am Sunday Mass. This ensemble welcomes anyone high school age and older.

Cantor: Rehearses 1/2 hour before Mass with the Director of Music Ministries and ministers at the 4:30 pm Saturday Mass. Because of the uniqueness of this position the ability to read music and/or previous vocal experience is helpful.

Instrumentalists: Anyone willing to serve the parish as an instrumentalist is encouraged to discuss that talent with the Director of Music Ministries. Your participation can be as-needed, seasonally, or weekly.

Children's Choir: At present the Children's choir is offered on a seasonal basis. Check the parish bulletin for information.

To discuss your involvement in any music ministry contact Dale Foley, Director of Music Ministries, in person after any Mass, email dtfoley@fuse.net or telephone, (513) 742-2173.
